What is larkfeed? The AI-native platform for local media
larkfeed puts local news, a business directory, events and jobs on one site, with AI doing the grunt work and a person approving everything.
larkfeed is a platform for running a local media business. It puts your news, a local business directory, an events calendar and a job board on one website. It's built AI-native, which means two things: AI does the slow, repetitive parts of the work, and the whole site is built to be found and cited by Google, ChatGPT and the AI search tools people use now.
We built it because we needed it. We run more than 20 local publications, and the same problem kept showing up. The website, the directory, the calendar, the job board and the newsletter all lived in different tools. None of them talked to each other, and there was always more worth covering than our team had time to write.
What's in it
- News and articles. Write your own, or use the AI article writer to turn a brain dump into a finished, designed story.
- Automatic coverage. larkfeed watches city council meetings, school board meetings and permit filings, then writes drafts that wait for you to approve them.
- A business directory. Every local business gets a real page. Owners claim theirs for free and can pay you to upgrade.
- An events calendar. Free submissions keep it full. Featured spots are yours to sell.
- A job board. Local openings come in for you, and employers can pay for premium roles.
- Owner interviews. Business owners answer a few questions in a form, and their story lands as an article ready for your approval.
Who it's for
larkfeed is for local media companies, local media entrepreneurs, and anyone who wants to run a local media business in their community. Some people come to it with a newsletter and an audience already. Others start from zero and want a site that earns from day one through upgraded business pages, ads, featured events, job posts and their own services.
It works in any market. WilCo Guide in Texas and Vegas HQ in Nevada are two of the sites running on it today.
What "AI-native" means here
It doesn't mean AI runs your site. It means AI handles the grunt work: the research, the digging through a 300-page agenda, the first draft, the structure. You keep the judgment. Nothing goes live without a person saying yes.
It also means the site is built for how people search now. More and more local questions get answered by AI assistants, and those assistants quote sources they can understand and trust. larkfeed marks up every business, article, author and place so machines know exactly what they are, publishes a guide for AI crawlers, and puts sources and dates on every story.
How it connects
larkfeed is one of three products from 8th replay, and they're built to work together. Your articles, events, jobs and businesses feed lightbreak, so your newsletter is built from your own site's content in minutes. Every form on your site, from business claims to event submissions, is a greetform.
